Summer can be rough on everyone, especially our short-nosed friends. Dogs do not have sweat glands the way humans and horses do. Their primary method for cooling themselves down is through panting.
Our Frenchies still want the opportunity to get outside and play, so we make it a priority to get out early in the morning before the temperatures rise too dramatically. We also provide our Frenchies with their own French Bulldog sized swimming pools. We make sure they aren’t deep enough to potentially drown in, but still have enough water to keep everyone cool.
If you can’t go out with your Frenchies, we recommend setting a timer for no longer than 7 minutes when you let them outside. It’s easy to get caught up doing household chores, and not realize just how long your pup has been outside.
